From a young age, I have wanted to work with children with the goal of supporting them through educational, social, and emotional difficulties. I entered the field while completing my bachelor’s degrees in sociology and psychology from the University of Calgary. I have also worked in group homes with adults with medical conditions and children with disabilities and behavioral challenges. After completing my degrees I began working at a non-profit center as a part of a transdisciplinary team where I was able to learn and grow my knowledge surrounding working with children with disabilities, diagnostics, and understanding the importance of supporting families and children equally. It was at this time I began her Masters in Clinical Counseling from Capella University. During this time my vocational experience grew to include working with adults who have faced addictions, homelessness, and traumatic events coupled with challenging behaviors. Overall, I have 8 years of experience working with children, families, and vulnerable populations and am eager to begin expanding my knowledge to include the effects of trauma on children and development. I am so excited to get to live my dream of helping to make a difference in the lives of those I will be working with.

Gwendolyn is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and a Qualifying Play Therapist. She supports children (5+), adolescents, and parents through compassionate, evidence-based care.

With extensive training in play therapy, she provides young clients with creative, engaging and developmentally appropriate ways to express themselves, process emotions, and overcome challenges. Her practice is centered on creating a safe and supportive space where children, adolescents, and families feel empowered to explore their concerns and achieve meaningful, lasting change.

In addition to play therapy, Gwendolyn integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), client-centered strategies, and strength-based approaches to address a variety of concerns. She tailors each session to the unique needs of her clients, helping them navigate difficulties while fostering resilience and personal growth.
